Brooklyn

What a lovely film! Well recommended. Very sweet, and at times bittersweet, but never sickly.
Marvellous performances from the star Saoirse Ronan, whose non-verbal acting is beyond superb; Julie Walters and Jim Broadbent, as reliable as ever; Emory Cohen, new to me, as Tony with the sweet puppy-dog eyes.
Nothing new in the story - love and loss and hope and fear - but it's very well done and I am happy to admit to watching much of it with moist eyes
