Large mugs of hot chocolate are recommended, it makes you shiver just watching it.

That film looks scary Cass. The best place for snow and ice is on Christmas cards. I've had my share of, what to me, were horrific journies, I don't care if I never see another snowflake, pictures of snow will do nicely for me.

I agree but the Dutch start sharpening their skates at the first hint of frost and get almost hysterical if theres a chance at the 11 city race .. 200km over the canals and open countryside..
In 1963 which some say was the 'best' race it was min 18c at the start but the wind made it feel like minus 40 . 10,000 started and 18 hours later just 69 had managed to finish.

I have no idea what makes them do it but even King Willem Alexander has had a go!

Whilst I prefer a winter like the one we are having at present, I can cope better with a cold winter rather than a very hot summer, which I dislike.
