I would be, given a bit of encouragement, but I don't go in for buying overpriced 'stuff' on designated days such as Valentine's !
I used to sometimes make things. A bit of effort and thoughtfulness goes a long way with me.

Late OH couldn't really be bothered

No but really he tries, the feelings are there. Just that he doesn't like themed days like Valentine's day, as its one big hype to him
