Worrying about the Kids

Hi

My two will be the death of me.

My son is based in Taiwan, saw the pictures of the earthquake on TV this morning.

He lives in the City affected and obviously I was worried but unable to contact him.

Finally heard from him just now, totally unconcerned.

It turns out he is on his way back to the UK and had stopped off a few days with his new girlfriend on the way back, got drunk last night and has only just crawled out of bed.

He had not said he was coming home for a week, or that he had a new girlfriend or that he would be bringing her with him.

He was just going to ring me when he was on the train from the airport to Crewe and get me to collect him and his girlfriend.

Far too laid back, but at least he is safe

Re: Worrying about the Kids

That's children for you Gibbs I think they live in their own little world sometimes totally oblivious of worried parents.
I have had many sleepless night over the years imagining all sorts of disasters.

I am pleased to hear your son is ok and I am sure you will enjoy his company when you get use to the shock of the the unexpected visit

Hi

Thanks for all the kind comments.

It will still be a shock when he arrives, two hours notice is the most that I will expect.

I hope you enjoy your son's visit. We never stop worrying about them, I guess we've all had some sleepless nights and worrying days.

I'm pleased all is well and your son is safe, swimmy!

You think when your children grow up, they will be less of a worry.... I think it gets worse!

Like the others say Swimmy, I am glad he is safe too.
These kids. You don't know whether to hug 'em or slap 'em half the time!
