I just hope they haven't put the kibosh on it again, we are long overdue for a lovely hot summer.

Re: We MAY be in for a sizzling summer!

One of the things I love about the Pacific Northwest is the moderate summer temperatures. I moved here 4 years ago from South Carolia on the Atlantic coast. There it's always in the mid-90s with very high humidity. It's almost unbearable for 6-7 months out of every year.

Here it rarely breaks 85 with little or no humidity. It's simply a paradise but only for the 4 months of the summer dry season. We're in mid-May now and still in the low 70s. It's very pleasant indeed.

I think it's time we had some really decent weather! I don't like it too hot but some nice sunny days would be lovely!

Many thanks for the link, Mags

Re: We MAY be in for a sizzling summer!

lol - cut and paste from the the link:

the middle of May is so notorious for cold snaps that folklore blamed it on the “ice saints” who wielded their frosty spell from May 11 to May 14 across Northern Europe. There is some truth in this, because even snowstorms can strike at this time of year. On May 17, 1955, a blizzard dumped huge snowfalls across the country, with snowploughs sent out to clear blocked roads in the North and three hours of snowfall settling on London, the last time that snow of any significance has fallen on the capital in May.
