The Happiest Age

According to the Office of National Statistics, people are at their happiest time of life between 65 and 79 years old.

Would you agree with that?

Well, I'm not sure Apricot.

We no longer have to worry about things like mortgages, employment, getting pregnant!
- , but maybe other worries take their place instead - like health issues, pensions, bereavement etc.

Re: The Happiest Age

Depends on who they interviewed Mups, I’m 70 and I can only speak for meself and say that I’ve never been happier, especially with the new grandson and the other two growing quickly into fine strapping men, life’s been good and I have no regrets.
On the other hand there are plenty of old gits who refuse to accept their age and grump away at everything and everyone, pitiful old souls all wrapped up in themselves, I know some of them and they make very depressing company.

As you get older, you need more convincing.

Yes, I pretty much agree with that Meg.

Perhaps the body I had a few years ago would be an improvement, but I'm mainly fairly content with life nowadays.

Mups I feel I will never experience being ecstatically happy as I did when I was with my husband and saw my baby for the first time.
Now I have a kind of gentle happiness and a calm contentment..

Re: The Happiest Age

My thinking is, if you have enough to live on, it can be a great time. Thats what I am shooting for.
