I've just heard on the BBC news that BT Internet customers have been having problems connecting to e-mail for a couple of hours now, but BT have announced that the problem is now overcome and customers should be able to connect.

Unfortunately, I'm with Virgin Media whose e-mail service has been out all afternoon, and still is. For some reason, this hasn't been reported on the BBC, but an internet search shows that this is a national problem.

After many ongoing problems with Virgin Media, I'm afraid that I couldn't possibly recommend them to anyone.

Internet OK but it caused problems on our BT TV service for a while.
Seems to have settled now

Sorry, just seen this. I posted about this on a new thread, and to add that Virgin Media's e-mail has also been down all afternoon (and still is), although not the internet.

If the mods would like to merge these two, it might be a good thing.

im with Virgin and emails have been coming through all day to me , no problem at all ..

I have an email account with BT and couldn't get through earlier on. It could have been annoying because I wanted to place an order with M & S and couldn't remember my password, but luckily I remembered it and should be receiving my new undies soon!

It seems OK now.

Can't get onto you-tube either at the moment and our internet connection went down about 1 hr ago

Yes I was off today. Knowing nothing I ended up changing pc's and it later came on. Same sort of lap-top but why do they work different ?
