Well i gave up on the lucite ones i liked as i can only find them in USA i got a nice dark wood one from Oxfam this afternoon, it has a ducks head on the top, the local shoe shop man made it shorter for me ( after several tries) and put a new rubber end on it all for free ,then when i got home i put a lot of flower stickers all over the actual stick and varnished it with the first coat, it looks pretty good, will put a picture up when ive finished my old fashioned camera film!

A lot of web sites will ship overseas sully - I often but things from other countries online. A walking stick would make an interesting package .

The rubber end is called a ferrule - it is a word that sticks in my mind for some strange reason.

It is always a good idea to be cautious. I do use paypal but do input my card details too. I have never lost any money fortunately.

I genuinely wish to thank you all for the information you have collected.

Recently my health has not been to good and I now require to use a stick, the NHS have provided one but it is an ugly heavy piece of kit.

Thank you all again.
