Government loses bedroom tax case over treatment of children

The Government have lost two cases in the appeal court relating to the so called bedroom tax.

One case concerns a 15 year old boy who cannot perform any day to day functions for himself and is cared for by his disabled grandparents.
The " spare " room is used by additional carers who sleepover a couple of nights a week.

The second case involved a lady who was the victim of extreme domestic violence, including being raped and receiving threats to kill.
Her " spare " room had been reinforced as a panic room to which she could seek refuge if she was in danger which was fortified in such a way that it would give Police time to reach her if someone was trying to harm her.

The Government are to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Just goes to show that there is no room for humanity in politics.

Are there any intelligent Tory supporters here who can explain why these cases are being taken to appeal by this government??

I'm not sure Tory supporters even support this.

Time after time the Government has tried to target certain benefits for vulnerable people and lost, yet stiil they keep trying, they seem to target the most vulnerable ,believing they are a soft touch on saving benefits, but wont admit defeat when overuled, showing their true colours as an uncaring Government
