Gangs

Gangs, the world runs on them, they are just bigger than they used to be, but, if one (or a member of one) of them steps out of line, is the terminology sill the same, most squabbles seem to be territorial so, do todays diplomats still say
"Get up yer own end"
"Yer wanna watch it you do"
"Come round here again and yer gonna get it"
Or has the language changed, to something more refined?

Re: Gangs

Hi

I agree the gang culture is growing, largely due to the influence of American culture, respect, or dissing someone can and does result in violent reprisals, sometimes lethal reprisals.

The only people they normally affect are members of rival gangs, although innocents are sometimes caught up in the crossfire so to speak.

Re: Gangs

When we were children/teens, gangs didn't necessarily imply violence.

Re: Gangs

The Mob has a very romantic way of threatening a rival gang member. In Italian its called.. " Il baci della morte " or " The kiss of death ". When a mob member kisses you on yoour cheek at a certain time and at a certain moment, you know right then and there, that he is kissing your ass good bye and you will not live to tell about it
