Explorer Henry Worsley has died.

Attempting a record breaking solo crossing of the Antarctic. He was airlifted to hospital suffering from severe exhaustion and dehydration.

The former SAS officer was only 30 miles from completing this epic journey.

Without men like this, willing to push the boundaries we'd still be living in caves and cooking over open fires.

Re: Explorer Henry Worsley has died.

Have you noticed how many of our intrepid explorers, nutcase survivalists etc are ex SAS?

They must require the same mentality, never give up, never be defeated.

They must live their whole lives by the regimental motto "Who Dares Wins"

I am sorry that a man has lost his life .
Unfortunately I fail to see any point in doing a solo crossing of the Antartic .

Like I said, without them we'd still be wondering what lies in the next valley.

I also think that the SAS conditioning and exploits makes life after the regiment boring and almost unbearable for some.
