David Cameron

What is David Cameron thinking of ? £ 20 M. to get Muslim women to learn English.?We have people cold, homeless and hungry here ,the NHS is struggling, there are not enough schools, businesses are closing, the rail/underground needs up grading,Yet he wants to spend British tax payers money on a useless project, upsetting Muslims and none Muslims. there are many in this Country who cant speak English, not just Muslims, they do not need to learn it , there is always someone who can translate.especially in government depts. We need to contact D.C and our local MPS, this is an outrage ,a smack in the face for Brits and Muslims alike

Re: David Cameron

He's coming in for some stick for suggesting it ..
Apparently he's 'stigmatizing' Muslims.
Baroness Warsi is not pleased and is on the warpath.

I'm not outraged by Dave .. because when you think about it ... they should speak English ... Muslims and Poles, whoever they are. Dave shouldn't have had to even suggest it. If they want to integrate .. they should make an effort to learn.

If you can believe the figures, last year 100 million was spent on translators for hospitals, police and courts for immigrants.

Re: David Cameron

You have to ask yourself have much money is spent on translators to these people and much money is sent on all the printed forms in all languages to inform these lazy people who won't learn the language of the country they have begged to come to.

Both of these posts are spot on IMO.

Re: David Cameron

In principle I am not against this as it seems like a good idea but I do wonder why he closed down so many language courses in his bid to cut costs, I know several people who lost their classes as the funding was withdrawn who were right in the middle of learning English to conversational level.

Re: David Cameron

Well here's another idea - why can't he stipulate that anyone who wants to leave their own country and live elsewhere, must learn the language of their chosen destination before they arrive. Make that a condition of acceptance?
