Just been announced that Alan Rickman has passed away at 69 from cancer. Fine actor.

It feels like 'celebrities' are dropping like flies at the moment.

69 isn't very old these days, is it?

I wasn't a huge fan - perhaps the things he did didn't appeal to me - but I'm sure he was a very good actor

Lovely film, I soaked up every second of it. I don't know if he was a celebrity it seems to take away so much from the consummate actor that he was ... An actors, actor ...

I hope they were both trumpeted into Heaven ...

Sad news.I remember him as the Sheriff of Nottingham in the film Robin Hood Prince Of Thieves his great line-
"Christmas is cancelled".Never seen any H.Potter films.R.I.P.

I haven't seen AR in many films but liked him in ''Truly madly deeply'', "The Barchester Chronicles" and 'Sense and Sensibility''.

I think is forte was the theater .

To me he was the star playing the Sheriff of Nottingham in Robin Hood prince of thieves opposite Costners Robin Hood.
