PMQ about pensions for women

On Pmqs this week, Cameron said they worked out the pension ages so that women don't have to wait more than 18 months longer than the present qualifying age.
Wonder why I have to wait until I'm 67 then!?
Can anyone please explain the system, it's puzzling?

Re: PMQ about pensions for women

The current pension age for men is 65 for those born before 1953 - (mine's been increased to 66 ) and between 60 and 65 for women born after 5 April 1950 and before 6 December 1953.

A bit more info for you here.

Mrs gasman has to work until she is 66 and I retire in a couple of years. All I said was ' don't slam the door on your way out to work ' She said something in Russian, ending in off

Surely if we've paid the same NI stamps we should get it at the same time as others have. Doesn't make any sense. My ex gets his and he's only 64.

Re: PMQ about pensions for women

Supposedly those new on pension for men they will be or are getting £150 a week. Wish I was, even with the bit extra from graduated pensions as it was way back I don't get anywhere near that amount now. Pension payments should be equal for all depending on working life time. That is for men and women
.
Any political party in power bend over backwards to give all sorts of benefits to those deserving or not , but pensioners are just an afterthought. £100 per person for winter fuel allowance is a joke, that is all I an my wife get each.
if it wern't for a work based and other private pensions plus savings I don't know what we would do, possibly work until we drop dead.

Having paid in for ,in my case 54 years nearly, what the state pension pay is a pittance.

There should be my own huge money pot if the state had saved it all for me to draw on,but that is not how it works
