European cities or Iceland?

Got a week to go visiting somewhere new in March...had been thinking along the lines of Eurostar and one of two cities in Europe.
Lyons, Cologne, Ghent....

Wondering now whether going north rather than south, say to Iceland might be colder but wiser?

Where would you go?

Iceland is lovely and a great place to visit.
I'd also consider Barcelona, Granada, Madrid, Milan, Bologna, The Italian Lakes, etc.

I certainly wouldn't go to a city. A town or village would be much more peaceful and closer to the countryside. Lakes or mountains would be my choice.

Re: European cities or Iceland?

We had a week in Bruges last July via Eurostar and loved it. We have also been to Iceland and loved that too. Both very different. If you do go to Bruges, try to go on the coastal tram which travels the entire length of the coast for 10 euros and you can get on and off all the way along.

So that's not much help really. Why not do one this year and the other next year!

I've been to Iceland - but it was in July - I wouldn't advise going there in March!
European cities - I'd go for Paris or Rome but you might like to think about Prague, Vienna or Budapest - all well worth a visit.

I wouldn't travel north in March, but you know what sort of climate/weather suits you.

Which European cities have you already visited?

Iceland - you have the chance of seeing the Northern Lights.
