Recliner Chairs

I am going to get myself a recliner chair, but I dont know if to go to a furniture store or a company specialising in items for elderly /disabled people ,which are more expensive.Does anyone have any experiences of one of these chairs,if so where did you get it from ?

Re: Recliner Chairs

We got on for my dad a few years ago, it was very expensive at the time and we later found several that would have done better for a fraction of the cost. So for me I would look cheaper first ratter than jump in at the top end of the market.

Re: Recliner Chairs

We got rid of our sofa a few years ago and got two recliners... The first were cheap leather look ones from a discount furniture store with extending foot rests and they quickly showed wear and tear.

The ones we have now are real leather with seperate foot stools and they are lovely. Not too expensive but not the discount highstreet type.

Re: Recliner Chairs

Best option is go try them out in store first if you can.

We have a curved sofa that has alternate recliners and I wouldn't be without it.

Re: Recliner Chairs

We bought two, two seater, leather sofas, quite expensive too.
We have had nothing but trouble with the lifting mechanisms. Be careful.

Re: Recliner Chairs

You might be better having a look at purpose made chairs for the elderly or if you have mobility problems, these types of recliners help making getting up from them by raising you higher so as to help you get out easier

Deylon, it depends on how much you can afford, and what you may call 'expensive.'
Brand new ones can be very expensive, that is true.
However, where I live, some of the Mobility shops sell good second hand ones.
That might be worth thinking about if pennies are tight?
Maybe you could even get covers for it to fit in with your colour schemes at home.
