That's amazing Muddy.

I love goats (used to milk 11 of 'em)!
I also think Tigers are stunning looking animals.

Wouldn't fancy his chances if goaty upsets his friend though!

Re: Amur and Timor

The tiger looks very well fed to me. Perhaps it doesn't need to kill the goat. Seems to prove that animals don't generally kill for no reason. Perhaps there is some entertainment value to each of them and strangely they enjoy having the company and interacting with each other.

I just hope the Tiger is always well fed and doesn´t get hungry.

Re: Amur and Timor

Just seen this clip on the news on telly tonight.

Apparently they live at a zoo in Russia. The tiger is fed twice a week with live food for him to catch and kill. They often use either deer, goat or something similar.
This unfortunate goat was thrown in to be eaten alive, but for some reason the tiger wasn't interested. They even starved the tiger for something like 5 days I think it was, to try and make him kill the goat, and he still didn't.

They have 4 shelters for the tiger to go into, and him and the goat go in and sleep together. They said if the goat goes wandering off out the shelter, the tiger calls for him.

They also said they have now stopped feeding goat to the tiger as "a mark of respect" to Goaty. (my name, not theirs).

Re: Amur and Timor

There might be a moral in this story as apparently the tiger didn't attack the goat as the goat didn't show any fear .

The goat follows the tiger around and even sleeps with it .

They've stopped feeding live goats to the tiger now ...
