Leap Year

So this year is another Leap Year.

Apparently the tradition of women proposing on leap year day is thought to date back to 5th-century Ireland, when St.Bridget complained to St.Patrick that women had to wait too long for suitors to propose.
He then gave women a single day in a leap year to pop the question - the last day of the shortest month.

Legend has it that Bridget then dropped to a knee and proposed to Patrick that instant, but he refused, kissing her on the cheek and offering a silk gown to soften the blow.

Have any of you ladies ever proposed on a leap year?
Have any of you chaps ever received a proposal?

Re: Leap Year

I know of three people who's birthday is February29th so they'll be able to celebrate on the proper date.
Don't know any females who have proposed on Feb 29th.

That's no excuse Meg - you could always kneel on the other one.

OK Tess. I'll get some more wool.

I'll send you a reminder towards the end of February, so's you don't forget. Meantime you'd best be rehearsing.

Quote Mups.
"Legend has it that Bridget then dropped to a knee and proposed to Patrick that instant, but he refused, kissing her on the cheek and offering a silk gown to soften the blow"

St Patrick was a wise man Mups, when a woman gets that desperate it’s time buy her a new fur coat and then do a runner.
