I think Doc, to be honest, the fact that it has the daft, awkward, stiff upperlipped hopelessness about it is half the humour
A..We are never better than when we're laughing at ourselves... sort of vibe..
But some things have become a bit repetitive and formulaic I agree.

The little I've watched, I totally agree with you. Not my cup of tea as humour. Give me the old favourites any time - Mrs Bouquet, One Foot in the Grave, AbFab, Dinner Ladies - can watch them over and over again.
