Credit cards

Do you have to use your credit card regularly in order to keep it ?
Its going to be a 'rare' event for me now and I wonder if they will cancel my card - any idea ?

Re: Credit cards

I have an "in case" credit card with Barclaycard that I use very rarely Patsy, but it still works and has the same credit limit as when I first took it out ten or twelve years ago.Having said that I don't know the rules regarding usage, only personal experience of not having a problem with low usage.

Hi Patsy no I had a Barclaycard for years that I never used.
You just have too keep an eye open that they don't suddenly introduce charges.

I switch to a John Lewis Card and pay for everything with it partly for the insurance cover on larger items and also I get points and money vouchers every few months. I have never paid a penny in interest, it gets paid off every month.

Re: Credit cards

Hi patsy , going into you bank and inserting your credit card , putting in your pin number and just asking for a balance check , keeps the card active . Even if you've not used your card for a long time . It's the action of doing this that keeps card active .

Hope this makes sense

The Halifax withdrew my credit card a few year ago because I hadn't used it for a very long time

Re: Credit cards

I very rarely use my credit card anymore. Mostly, I do cash transactions. Miami has become the number one city in America for identity and social security theft. You see, its all about not working, living off the backs of others and getting a free ride
