You couldn't be more wrong, Nom. There is no interaction as such between the lemurs and humans, and strictly no feeding or touching them. The hotel is on a huge reserve in which the lemurs live, and though they have learned to tolerate human presence they soon warn you off if you get too close. They are called Dancing Sifakas because of the way they propel themselves from one place to another - leaping a bit like a kangaroo but with their front paws up in the air, which makes it look like a dance. Most of the shots I have are of their backs as they leap away, but this one took off to the side. When I get home I'll try to post a series of photos which shows how they move.

The power that they have in their back legs would make you think so, Mags! The photo is all thanks to the sports mode on my camera - I never thought I would have need of it, but it has been brilliant for capturing these creatures in motion.

Lovely photo Ania. I was just looking at the Bow legs on him, he’d make a grand little jockey God bless ‘em.
