He was an excellent actor - turned up in all sorts of things - but I suppose it will be his performance as Henry VIII that people will remember the most.

Yes he must have had other roles, but I only remember Henry VIII, when I was a youngster - and the torture scenes absolutely terrified me.

I'm sure he was a very nice man and he must have had a very good agent ...he was never off our screens in the late 60's and 70's !
But.....I always thought that he was a dreadful actor !
