New Zealand flag

I have just seen the five proposals for the new NZ flag and I must say they are all appalling.

What do you all think ?

Re: New Zealand flag

The one on the right looks like a good compromise to me. It looks to the past as well as the future.

Re: New Zealand flag

I think the silver fern has some particular significance to the maoris.
The southern cross stars appear on the Australian flag which is often confused with the Kiwi one.

I reckon a flag should be simple but distinctive - stand out in the sea of flags at the Olympics.
For that reason, I would go for No.3 or No.4.

But hell, it's silly tribal nationalism anyway. Who really cares about such stuff ?

No 3 is iconic but a bit sinister .

Clearly the New Zealanders care or they would not be doing this anyway.

Of the five shown - I like the fifth one best. The fern seems to be quite a popular logo in NZ.

Re: New Zealand flag

The silver fern is a national emblem of New Zealand.
I once met a New Zealand lady on the internet who used it as her username.
I like the one on the left.
