Computers

Was just going to install my Brother printer onto my new laptop and have discovered that Windows 7 is not included on it. Any suggestions ?

Re: Computers

I'd go to the printers website and see if they've updated their drivers with a Windows 7 one. If not, see if they've got a Vista one and try that

Either way do a restore point save in case you need to revert

Re: Computers

No you shouldn't need to put the windows 7 disk in (unless it asks you for it)

Windows restore, I can't remb where it is now (as I use a Mac now) but it's usually in start > help and restore. OR, I think you can just search windows for 'system restore' and it should take you to it

Re: Computers

Let your OS detect the printer itself, . . . it's a new OS so it should pick up the printer, . . I would try this first before loading in any drivers or other software.

Re: Computers

I will have the same problem soon. I have recently bought a brand new Canon printer that I was going to use on my xp notebook but I've decided to buy a new pc or laptop with Windows 7 and on the description on the printer it doesn't say Windows 7, but it does say Xp and Vista.

Maybe these printers were made before Windows 7 came out. You can always look at the Brother website and maybe phone them to ask. That's what I will do for my Canon one. Just a thought for you.

Re: Computers

We have two Brother printers (DCP-385C and DCP-117C) on separate computers. Windows 7 was able to install them both from its own driver database
