Vows

Have you stuck by them, or have you fallen by the wayside?

Re: Vows

Vows to yourself about something?
A promise made to someone else?
Wedding vows?

What sort of vows had you in mind?

I rarely have the need to make promises to anyone now, but on the odd occasion when I do, I will mean it.

Re: Vows

Are vows different to promises? vows have a more serious sound, like oaths as in “Will you take an oath”
You know what they say, a nut is the same to a tasteless Horse as an oath.
Now I haven’t broken any important vows I’m glad to say Spitty, I’m just an old fashioned man who meant what he said.

Re: Vows

So what is the difference between a vow, oath or faithful promise? Unless a promise is not usually a legal document perhaps?

A lot of folks seem to make excuses for not keeping a clean slate

Re: Vows

I've never broken a wedding vow in 42 years.

I seldom make promises these days, if I'm going to do something for someone, I just do it.

Re: Vows

Was that a solemn vow?
