Re: Yet another new keyboard

I used to buy cheap ones and found they did not last. Treated myself to an illuminated one and it was quite expensive but looks lovely. Just hope it lasts a bit longer than the others.

Same here!

In the end I bought an apple keyboard (for my PC back then) and loved it. It gets wiped down with a damp towel whenever I have a shower

My logitech PC keyboard used to too, but the keys started to wear off. I am more rigorous with my Mac one and touch wood it's still like new

I also found key letters used to disappear but so far this is good., It is also white with black letters which I prefer as I have rather poor vision. The soft blue light under the keys is a real help.

Re: Yet another new keyboard

While on the subject of keyboards, here's an article saying how wireless ones can be hacked using a recently developed device. I read some discussion on this and it seems the range can be up to 50 metres. There's a link in the discussion that leads to here. This page has a couple of videos demonstrating that even wired keyboards can be remotely spied on. The page might be a bit difficult to read but watch the videos.

Maybe the information on both the wireless and the fixed keyboard hack is more interesting than being a real threat that we would face. It shows what's possible though. The Wireless hack especially (longer range), could be carried out by someone next door or sitting outside a home I suppose. I never have trusted wireless technology.
