Can't even give it away

We need a bit more room so are advertising on freecycle a few items - not one response from anyone and it's not rubbish we have an upright freezer, lovely sideboard and welsh dresser but not one taker.

Either everyone is much better off than they say or well I can't come up with any other idea

I am about to contact the council to see if their furniture store might be able to take some items as someone must need them surely ?

Yes bit of a problem transporting them although we could turn the freezer on it's back and float the dresser over I guess

Or make a boat out of the sideboard and stick the dresser in it…

Actually I also am having trouble getting rid of some stuff, but if all else fails there are a couple of local second-hand furniture shops that will take them.

But they won't take the white goods I need to be rid of.

With my luck we would miss Ireland and end up lost at sea, so keep an eye on the papers anyone seeing a woman with unusual boat adrift at sea it might be me

Re: Can't even give it away

Julie I had the same problem last year when I decided to get rid of all my large furniture including a matching dining room suit and bookcase by Stag furniture all practically in mint condition.

In the end the YMCA who along with a couple of other charities have a furniture collection scheme came to my aid and took them away .

The money would have been nice had I sold them and some people said I was mad to let them go for nothing but I look on it as making a donation I am not starving so can do without the money and I have no doubt they made someone very happy

Re: Can't even give it away

Well that is what freecycle is about or should be, letting someone who needs something get it for free, does make me wonder why people no longer seem to need things.
