Japanese super subs

Just watched a documentary about these subs built during WW2, . . they could carry 3 aircraft in a watertight hangar, . . they were the precursors of todays tridents.

The Japanese had planned to bomb Americas west coat cities with millions of fleas infected with all sorts of nasties like anthrax and plague in the hope America would surrender . . they were a real nasty lot eh, . . they did not know Mr Roosevelt and the American people or the vastness of the USA, . .

Here's a link for you.

Re: Japanese super subs

Thing is though-they never made it.

`What if channels` annoy me .

The real history in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

What if the French had invaded Germany on September 4th 1939??

What if Harold decided a hill was a good place and didn`t go looking for trouble?

Re: Japanese super subs

They worked, . . the reason they never made it was that Admiral Yamamoto was killed in 1943 when his aircraft was shot down, . . the project was his brainchild, . . after his death the plans were shelved and later they made other plans for those subs to bomb the Panama canal but this was in 1945 and it was too late by then.

That's true OG, . . he was assassinated by America, . . . . the fleas were used in experiments in Manchuria where they killed hundreds of thousands of Chinese so they worked as well, . . "what if" is correct but it was possible if events had come about.

Re: Japanese super subs

One of the biggest "what ifs" of that era. What if Sir Frank Whittle's jet engine had been developed and put into production in the late 1930s when it was first muted.
