Re: Batten the hatches....

The Met office forecast doesn't look that bad. It's a bit damp and breezy here this morning, but nothing unusual for October.

It has been varying from raining hard to lashing it down here since yesterday afternoon, water laying on the roads is making driving dangerous, but the wind hasn't arrived thankfully the rain is coming straight down so an umbrella is best armour against it.

I saw that too Aysa it is a week away so a bit early to tell for sure where the weather system will go.

I lived through the 'Great storm' here in October 1987 and have been through the middle of a hurricane at sea, neither of them were 'mere trifles' and they are not to be treated that lightly. Ex-hurricane Joaquin is not to be 'sneezed' at - it has already wrought death and destruction t'other side of the 'pond' and out in the Atlantic east of Bermuda. I just hope that it doesn't bring any deaths here or cause too much damage in its passing.

Yes, I agree Aysa. They said last night that it looked like it will leave us alone, thank goodness.
It's pouring with rain here as we speak, the the sky is solid grey, but at the moment it's very mild, and not windy at all.
Fingers crossed, ey.
