Drs Surgeries

Several years ago my old Dr retired, his patients were registered at other surgeries around,My family and I were sent to one a few yards further on. Now it seems that my current surgery has taken over running the old surgery ,as well as its own. I rang for appointment today and was told there isnt any at my regular surgery , but I can have one tomorrow morning at the old surgery.Talk about swings and roundabouts

That doesn't surprise me. Just says that your current surgery is expanding, presumably due to an increased number of patients. Sounds good to me!

Glad you made it 'online' Alan

I think 'my' is the relevant word here. I don't have a 'my' doctor so consequently can get an appointment to see a variety of excellent doctors without having to wait for long.

I think it can be advantageous to see a variety of Doctors , they can bring a new perspective to things.

Similar circumstances here also, Meg. We have each been assigned a different doctor but usually have to see another one, not of our choice, as said assigned doctor is not available for weeks, even months

Re: Drs Surgeries

Hi

Our local Doctor retired late last year, the surgery, treatment rooms and dispensary were in his house.

We were faced with a five mile journey to the nearest available surgery and the loss of this facility was going be so sorely missed.

There was no funding available for a new surgery in the village, so a local businessman has built, at a cost £1.37 million, a new surgery, treatment rooms and dispensary .

A fantastic resource for the village.

Re: Drs Surgeries

Meg ,although I have my ' 'own ' registered Dr,being over that age ,I seldom see her, she only works 4 mornings a week and is very popular, so if I feel ill and need to see someone it can be anyone of several Drs practicing there, but today there was no appointments for any Doctor, also the two surgeries have always been run separately, now it seems you cab be seen at either

Re: Drs Surgeries

We were assigned another doctor when ours retired 3 years ago. I have never seen her, she as some have mentioned only works some mornings a week which don't tally in for when I feel poorly.

I will see someone else if needed, but I try not to go unless I absolutely need to. I get my repeat prescriptions that is all.

Re: Drs Surgeries

I went to the 'other surgery ' today to see a Dr, so different to my own, a couple of Asians were having a loud conversation in the waiting room when I went in ,so I found it hard to hear what the receptionist was saying,I was sent upstairs to see the Dr. and when I came down again there were a several Asians sitting there holding a loud conversation in their own language,At my own surgery many are Asian but people sit or talk quietly. The young Dr was pleasant, but he kept wiping his nose on the back of his hand/sleeve then he started sneezing . I couldnt get out quick enough .He said I have a chest infection and given me anti biotics
