Dame Del Noche

I just got a call from our German neighbours to go over as their Dame Del Noche is flowering tonight. Off I went in my jimjams, here are the results. I should have taken the SLR but I didn´t.

It is beautiful isn´t it Mags, such a pity it only flowers at night and is dead by morning. The fruit is also edible and my German neighbours eat that too.

The only one I have ever seen before Meg was in the Duke of Devonshire´s greenhouse. We were invited to go and see it bloom at midnight, but that was years ago. Seeing that one last night in our neighbour´s garden was amazing, it really is beautiful and you can actually see it opening up, just like a time lapse camera, I was really awe struck.
