How about this I spotted in todays paper then:"Panto bosses were given short shrift yesterday for renaming a production 'Snow White And Her Seven FRIENDS' - to avoid offending dwarves. They will be having children to play the 7 ' helpers' and not employing dwarves.
Chiefs behind the production said dwarves was "not a word people feel comfortable with."
3 & half foot Warwick Davies said "I find it patronising when people are offended on our behalf." He also thought it might be a 'smokescreen' to cut costs, saying "Panto profit margins are not very big. It's cheaper to involve children than pay actors."
ALSO, apparently in America Noddy's pal Big Ears was also renamed for US telly to avoid offending viewers with huge ears!!!!
Beggars belief don't it.

Warwick Davis is proud of his dwarfism and has earned good morning from it starring in a lot of films including Star wars. He and is family are brilliant and his wife recently appeared as a loose woman. I think they are an example to all our vertically challenged persons. Why is it so often people take offence on other people's behalves when the people themselves are perfectly happy with the description. One of Grace's school friends is a achondroplasia dwarf and very happy to be called a dwarf, what she hates with a vengeance is people who ignore her.09-09-2015, 05:03 PM
