Ask a Policeman

After the cremation of my niece today another niece [ cousin ] ,along with me,her Mum and sister were trying to get to the reception. Goodness me what a roundabout route her Satnav took us . We found the road we wanted but not the venue,so when we saw a police car with two young policemen we stopped to ask them where it was , niether knew, they looked it up on their phones and finally ,five + minutes later ,they told us to take a left down a side road, but this led to private homes, and back to the road we'd just left, no sports hall in sight , finally my niece decided to ring her cousin on his mobile,it seems the venue we wanted was just a few yards from where we were. We passed the Policemen still sitting in the same place, also just yards from where we wanted to be , yet they did not know it

Re: Ask a Policeman

Very sorry for your loss Deylon.

There could be many reasons why, our local police are pretty good at directing people but we have a lot come in off the motorway and they have no idea about localities of anything. Also we have police drafted in from other forces quite often and they too are very sketchy on where anything is - even had to direct one man to the police station in town (didn't give me a huge amount of confidence he would be much help to them though).

A policeman, sorry cannot remember the last time I saw one of those. Unless it was zooming past me to get to an accident.

The police station was closed down and moved into the council offices, and if you want one after 5pm it comes from Cheltenham or Gloucester.

Luckily not had the need to seek the help of one.

Re: Ask a Policeman

These two were standing by a parked police car in a side road off the high street, I think they were checking on speed/offences of motorists on the high street, probably trying to catch some unsuspecting motorist out. These are the only police Ive seen for I dont know how long
