Not in the least, 'superstition' is a hang over from religious beliefs.

No, although some things such as not walking under ladders is more common sense than anything else ..

Putting old shoes on a table is more likely to cause problems than new ones IMO due to all the outside dirt they have on them and how on earth do they test umbrellas in the factories? or do they take them outside to a mass testing field so that they aren't opened indoors?

On a more serious note black cats and dogs spend a lot more time in shelters and are more difficult to re-home because of silly superstitions..

I´m not superstitious, which I think is just as well because there are so many superstitions whole days and nights would be taken up not doing this or doing that, nothing would ever get done !
