Homelessness

The Scottish parliament say their target to end the plight of homeless people is 2012, . . good for them, . . even cave men realised that to survive you must have a roof over your head, . . if the Tories get voted in this will be put to one side no doubt to make way for more urgent priorities like reduced income tax for the better healed.

There are all sorts of reasons why individuals become homeless like marriage breakups or being evicted from private accommodation for whatever reasons, . . I was shocked to see the statistics so here's a link for you, . . just remember it can happen to anyone.

Re: Homelessness

Yes, good for them, I always thought that we should have made it a target for the Millenium Eve that we would have no-one homeless that night, and then carried the work on. Would have been a lot better monument to the turn of the century than that ruddy dome.

Did you watch Secret Millionaire? Dawn Gibbins who is a multi-millionaire came to Bristol under cover. She went out on an outreach van with the One25 project, who work women who are abused and trapped in a life of street sex-work and served meals to those sleeping rough and battling addiction at the Wild Goose Café. Now she is giving away £250000 of her own money to these projects and was really impressed and moved by the work they do.
