Well, on the jobs page today is an advert for an Interpreter. What's unusual about that, you might well ask... well, it's for someone who can speak fluent Anglo Saxon! Yes, the people who lived in Great Britain in the 5th Century.
No I wouldn’t imagine you’d get many applying for that post Tachyon, not at minimum wage anyway.
I’m stunned that a specialist skill like that pays only minimum wage and you have to supply your own insurance contributions too, surely there couldn’t be many Anglo Saxon interpreters knocking about in this day and age, and who would correct HIS grammar and punctuation? he could be talking double Dutch for all anyone knows.
I think that they want Anglo Saxon people, whose first language is English, as interpreters who can speak other languages.
A very badly worded advertisement
Lots of people up't North can still speak some Anglo Saxon.
Its a lot like Yorkshire.
I am surprised about their comments about the pay though
as if you look down the side it states its £30 an hour???
It sounds interesting anyway. Better than doing dishes.
