On presents

My girlfriend`s daughter will soon be 14. Mimi wanted a party at this place called `Lush`. Her mother cannot afford it,so I think they are going somewhere a bit cheaper.

Veronica told me girls of that age just want cash-but I think cash is so impersonal. I have bought Mimi a gift box of Lush products. I never had children but I hope I have done the right thing?

Stephan my granddaughter is 14 and she loves receiving Lush products so I would imagine Mimi would also be delighted with her gift box.

Thanks all for so much kind feedback. As I said I never had children. I remember birthdays when friends gave me little presents-seems these days parents have to pay a small fortune to host a party.

I agree with everyone that a well thought out gift is better than cash. I had to look up the brand though, I never heard of Lush. They might have a new customer now
