Massive earthquake strikes Chile

The earthquake, with a magnitude of 8.8 and the biggest for 50 years, happened earlier this morning. So far the death toll is 78.

So soon after the Haiti earthquake last month too, it makes you appreciate how lucky we are in the UK to experience just the occasional light tremble.
