Magical sounds

We've had threads on songs we liked, and we've had one on smells that we like, but what about sounds?
That is no so daft as it sounds (no pun intended )

I can remember loving the sound of my Grandads cuckoo clock and watching the little bird popping in and out.

An old farmer friend of mine had a grandfather clock, and I used to love the sound of that ticking - such a lovely homely sound.

I used to love the sounds of my various cockerels crowing early in the morning. I knew exactly who was up by their different voices.

I love the sound of newborn puppies snuggling up to their mother's teats.

I love to hear a cuckoo.

I also used to like sound of a Morris Minor that always went by my house, that was nostalgic, as I once had a Morris Traveller, the Saloon, and the open back Pick-up. I loved those old cars.

I like my bedroom window open so I can hear the dawn chorus. (But the neighbours cat meowing and climbing my fence has spoilt that now).

And lastly, I love to be laying in bed with the window open, and hearing and smelling gentle rain pattering outside.

What sounds do you like?

Re: Magical sounds

The cuckoo in spring.

Waves gently lapping the shore.

Rain on the conservatory roof.

The dawn chorus of birds.

The crackle of burning wood.

Choral music!

Re: Magical sounds

It seems we share similar tastes in sounds
A cuckoo, waves, rain, the dawn chorus , nuzzling puppies

I also like to hear the wind in the trees, distant church bells , new born lambs.

The Sea - in all it's moods.

The forest at night.

Birdsong.

Cats purring.

Rustling Petticoats.

Bees bumbling about the garden.

Rain.

Wind chimes.

Burning logs.

The Archers theme tune because if they could make it through the day, so could everyone else. (or so it seemed at the time)

Re: Magical sounds

The first singing Skylark of the year, the herald of Spring.

The keening call of a Buzzard in display flight.

Pink-footed geese calling while flying overhead, Autumn is here.

Mistle thrush, (Stormcock) atop a chimney singing ahead of the coming storm.

Lying in a Wildflower meadow, listening to the buzzing of the insects.

Thunderstorms.

Standing in a Gale force wind listening to trees blowing, and sensing the power.

Music.
