I said never again

Well I did it again , first time in years I overdid the alcohol on a night out.

We went for a lush meal , couple bottles wine between 4 of us , then onto weatherspoons where I felt a quantro with ice would be nice , so the drinks flowed and the laughter and fun started , I had a few and they went down well. ...till I got on the bus ...OMG I was drunk , my friends saw me home , I fell in the door , dropped my bag etc and went to bed , slept for 7 hours , got up , felt rough , went back to bed, slept till 12 noon. Oh dear what a silly girl I was , couldn't eat all day and a banging head.

The next day girls told me I'd been drinking doubles and there was me thinking it was all ice .

Great night out though ,but me thinks I need to be more aware next time .

Oh Susan why do we do it to ourselves. Been there done that and doesent the drink go down so quickly when you are enjoying yourself.

Got to admit though I have virtually stopped drinking altogether, we were away for 4 days last week and I had 1 glass of wine and after a couple of sips I would have left it but we stayed in the restaurant for a bit so it went.

Hope the hangover has cleared up now.

....that's just it Susan I think as we get older and 'out of the habit' our bodies don't cope so well and take longer to recover.
You seem to have had a good time that is the main thing and no harm done

And why not Susan, it does your spirits good every once in a blue moon to have a jar with good company, as me granny used to say “ Enjoy it while you can, you’ll be a long time dead” Unfortunately every time we enjoy ourselves we have to pay the price the next day.

I've cut right down but even a small amount causes me problems so giving it up totally might well be on the cards for me too. Stuff is poison after all.
