I say new cars don't have bumpers, not where I live anyway

As I said I believe they look like part of the car rather than something you would see separately. So we could both be right, they have them but we can't see them

It's because the safety design of cars has changed, old cars were solid and the bumper bar was there to take the shock out of any collision, but now the cars are made to take the shock by crumpling.
