Happy or not.

Are you happy with the place where you live and the general environment, if not what upsets you most, I am interested to know what people find the most annoying about their surroundings.

Re: Happy or not.

I have lived in different villages until the last 8 years, but now I am on the outskirts of a small town. I would go back to village life in an instant if I could, I miss the countryside and the people. Unfortunately the price of properties prohibits this now.
At least my kitchen window looks out on loads of trees and greenery, I could never live anywhere that only looked out onto brick walls and chimney pots.

Re: Happy or not.

No not happy but it's because we are in a flat with no garden of our own, if we had a garden we would be happy oh that and no neighbours up stairs.

We are looking for a bungalow with garden that will suit us, the location we are not too fussed about but obviously not a really rough area.

Re: Happy or not.

Yes, very happy with where I live and the house we live in.
In a very small town 10 minutes walk and where in the open country with lovely green fields, albeit next to an airport.

We have lived in this house 40 years this September done everything you could think of over the years, extended, knocked walls down opened the loft.

Beautiful gardens all down to my husband. its his passion.

Only one way I'm going from this house and that's in a long box, but then they don't even do that these days it in a Bin Liner

Re: Happy or not.

I am very happy living right out among the fields thought I think it would not suit everyone There is no public transport of any kind so a car is really a necessity.

Most annoying things , the smell of sheep some days and the dust and mud created by tractors going down the lane to tend the stock.

I would like to move to a smaller house but can't find anywhere in my price range as pretty as here...

Re: Happy or not.

I`m happy here, decent size garden and a quiet road. 10 minute walk to the chippy,15 mins into the small town.

Downsizing has suited me nicely.
