Resuscitation

Have you ever given CPR or saved a life ?
Are you confident you would know what to do?

Re: Resuscitation

No I haven't had to do CPR thank goodness and I wouldn't be confident in doing it although I was taught how for work .

Re: Resuscitation

Only for a dog I am not sure that counts but he did live and did recover went on for a further 5 years in relative good health.

Re: Resuscitation

I haven't given it, but would have a damn good try. Thanks to training by St John's.

Re: Resuscitation

I have had training but that was years ago so I dont suppose it counts..
I did do it once on a hamster and she lived another year ?

I think if I knew help was close at hand I wouldnt attempt it but if it was me or no help at all Id give it a go..

Re: Resuscitation

I think I would react automatically and do it even if it wasn't quite the right way professionally. I'd be scared though.

I am sure it does count Cass you would do it automatically I believe, and bodies don't change much so whatever you learned would help I am sure.

Re: Resuscitation

I wanted to try years ago in Saudi Arabia but everyone at the scene said he had long gone.

He was a friend - a mate - I thought I should try, but I didn't.

Still bugs me to this day. stevmk2

Re: Resuscitation

Oh Steve, that conveyed a thousand words.
And is so sad. Hugs to you ... XX

Myself, I wouldn't have a clue what to do and so wouldn't.
I don't even really know basic stuff like the recovery position which is a bad thing to admit and I ought to rectify.
