Can you remember being cheeky or naughty to your parents?

I mention this because I keep saying to my little Granddaughter Kate
how naughty she is. She is only 17 months so at that age you are.

It brings to mind when I was 16 and fed up with my Dad who I didn't
like and who smoked. So I thought I would teach him a lesson
I bought myself a packet of 5 Woodbines and told my Mam what
I was going to do. I said when you see him coming in the yard let
me know and I will light up.
So sitting on the settee I heard Mam say he was here and I lit a
fag as we used to call them. When he came in he looked around
and he said "Are you smoking?" I said "Yes" He said you cant do
that and I said why not I am 16 now and legally entitled to smoke
if I want to. . He said How many have you smoked so I told him
it was my first ever. Anyway he was really shocked and I was glad
I didn't get the usual clip around the earhole. After that I did explain
why I was doing it to prove that smoking wasn't good and it was
certainly not good for the people that lived with him.

As a footnote to my impudence as they used to call it, I call it
sticking up for yourself the following happened.

Not long after that he decided to cancel his order with the bottom
shop where he bought up to 80 cigs a day. 3 months later he
had a massive stroke and the Doctors said it was caused by his
cigarette smoking.
Don't under estimate the beautiful mind of a Aquarius even at 16

Well I went to the corner shop aged around 5 - 6, to get me Dad his ciggies and I spied a lovely big bar of chocolate, I'll have that too says I - and put it on the slate. Are you sure your Daddy said to do that - says he, Oh yes .....
I got me chocolate and an earful to go with it

Not being cheeky, but as with BowieEyes, on our daughter's 16th birthday she said 'Well, there's something I can do legally now'.

Oh yes...' we said a bit apprehensively, What's that?'

'I'm going to the Spar shop to get a Lottery Ticket!'

On that occasion yes - he saw the funny side - but when me Mother left for the umpteenth time, I got me share of beatings then I used to hate coming home to find her gone.................. Ah well

I remember when I was about ten and my mum was working and my dad was there looking after us. I asked him for something and he said no and I called him "fatso" and he chased me with a tea towel from the kitchen and I ran into the bathroom and locked the door. He did calm down, but even now I can laugh out loud about it

No I can't . I loved my Father too much to be cheeky or naughty ( a man in a million who ruled his children with love)
My stepmother who joined us when I was 8 would have killed me (literally) if I had dared to be cheeky let alone naughty
I dared to answer her back once and ended up on the floor. Sadly Dad who was working all hours to keep her in beautiful clothes was not aware how she treated his children.

i told fibs when 15 'used to go on the back of motorbikes with my other friends -parents would have killed me -grounded for a year lol...if caught .just got bac one nite from a ride when my dad came marching down the road looking for me ..made it by 2mins ... he never knew i went on them 'but used to get a drilling ..

Sounds like your lovely Dad was taken advantage of, a real life wicked stepmother!
