where has fairgrounds vanished too ?

i have to say i have not seen one for years now' but when in my teens there was loads all around the country,me and my friends used to jump a bus in london and head for our nearest fair in the evening time 'listening to the sounds of the firing range' music on the dodgem cars, getting free goes off the guys who worked them ,love the whole atmosphere 'and win a teddy bear' on the gun range, maybe i live in more a secluded area... do you get them near you still ? oh to win a gold fish ..

We still have them occasionally, but there are not as many things there as there used to be, and the prices are sky high.

Every year we still get the Carters fair and another I can't remember name of currently. Lovely if you like sky high prices, noise and smells. Usually can't wait for them to go so we get the village green back for the dog walkers and children.

They still come to our town two or three times a year. I loved them when I was a young thing, but avoid them like the plague now!

Now that you mentioned it Toffee there hasn't been one around our area in donkeys years, there used to be three or four every year when I was a kid in the 1950's.

There used to be a huge Christmas Fair come to Aberystwyth. Think it still turns up but on a vastly reduced scale. Use to watch the kids on the mad rides, scared the bejeeb out of me just watching.
