Travelling light

Do you pack the kitchen sink, or do you prefer to travel light?

I travel light these days. Kids all gone, just me to consider in my suitcase. I take a small bag for weekends. A larger case to Spain in the Summer, but still a medium sized bag. New York in November will involve a backpack. As simple and easy as I can make it these days.

How about you?

Re: Travelling light

As I usually stay in a farm with three little ones, three adults and two dogs and I do the cooking for everyone I take everything that can be squeezed in two cars including my favourite skillet, knives, cleaning things, first aid kit, food and wine and a few clothes.

Meg I remember when my boys were wee. It was like a house move whenever you went anywhere. So I can imagine it being like that with grandchildren . You're scared incase you forget anything!

Re: Travelling light

We take two big cases when we go abroad, both packed to the limit. When we holiday in this country, usually a caravan holiday, the car is packed full with everything we may need.

At least we won't have nappies for three babies this year so there should be more room for food

Re: Travelling light

Well it's the weather you see Myra. You have to be prepared for all sorts. Then there's the dressing for dinner every night. I wouldn't dream of wearing the same thing twice...

You've guessed it - I take the kitchen sink!!

Re: Travelling light

We actually did take the kitchen sink - campervan, caravan, tent all had kitchen sinks But we pack light as we can as each of those modes of holidaying don't really lend themselves to heavy packing.

Re: Travelling light

I take so much and hardly use some of them but I worry I may need them so when I go abroad it's two cases crammed to the required weight.
