Property programes

I sometimes come across these when I am channel hopping.
I just wonder what they are all about , the viewers are usually quite critical and can"t seem to find common ground. They usually say" we will think about it " will have to sell our own property first ,which is fair enough but somehow doesn't seem to ring true . What do I know . It all seems a bit staged.

Re: Property programes

These programmes are ok and give you ideas of what house you would like to buy. And you can have a nosy round the houses with them. But what gets me is all these people have good jobs and their well off and the houses they show them cost a fortune. There always in nice decent areas and have coffee shops and boutiques. And when they get to the end of the programme they say well which one do you like. And most of the time they say oh we might go back and have a look another time or were going to leave it for a while? Why make a programme if there's nothing positive coming from it, it beats me!?

Re: Property programes

In programmes like "Escape to the country", I get the feeling that many of the prospective buyers have no idea what country living is like. A lot want land to keep livestock and I wonder if they know just what this involves.

Of course they need plenty of rooms and a large farmhouse kitchen for when their friends come to visit. I wonder how often they'll make the 100 mile journey?

However, I do like the chance to see other people's houses and maybe get a few ideas.

Re: Property programes

I'd also like to see properties at the cheaper end of the market, but I quite like being allowed to have a little snoop around properties via TV. What I'd really like, though, is a version of Grand Designs that focuses on properties being built for less than 200,000. Guess they would have to change the name to Unpretentious Designs, though...

I love watching people who "Self Build" whilst only partaking in pumping numbers into a Spreadsheet.

Re: Property programes

I always wonder afterwards why they bothered looking in the first place. Then I wonder how can they be that pernickety? "Eh, sorry, but we don't like it as there's a brick in the wrong place" .
