The Channel Tunnel.

Opened in 1994, 80% over budget, and we are no longer an island, so good or bad for Britain ?

Dunno, but you'd never get me going through it.

Re: The Channel Tunnel.

I don't like travelling through the Severn Tunnel by train (approx 4 mins) let alone the Channel Tunnel .... that's the only time I feel claustrophobic, the thought of being underwater

I wouldn't mind using it if it went somewhere I wanted to go, husband however would need sedating to get him into it However it worries me how many animals may make it through with no checks.

The first time I went through it I was so engrossed in my book I hadn't realised we were in France.

I wouldn't go through it if you paid me, but it must be good for trading with the rest of Europe. I like a bit of sky above me when I travel, give me the boat anytime.

Re: The Channel Tunnel.

I never thought I would go through but after spending more and more time at airports delayed by this that or the other I went by eurostar and loved it..

Much more flexible and easy that the plane and the security check is just like the one at the airport.
