Better late than never

I saw in todays paper about the gentleman of 102 finally marrying his long term girlfriend aged 91.
They have been courting for the last 25 years, and he said he thought it was about time they got wed.
Bless their hearts, I thought that was absolutely lovely.

What a lovely story, they will have a place in the Guiness Book of Records for sure.

I hope they remember the date of their wedding

Re: Better late than never

They were on our local news. They have lived together for 20 odd years. His son suggested he propose when they were all out together, so,he did.

They are not getting married until Juy so I hope they last until then. They must be pretty well off because they have been living together at the Eastbourne Hotel for two years and use room service! Better than a care home.

Re: Better late than never

I have just found out that the hotel is owned by the son. It's the Langham Hotel in Eastbourne. I liked his proposal. "Will you marry me for a short time"

How very lucky they are then, not to have to go into a retirement home.
I wonder why they are waiting till July to marry, you'd think they'd do it next week or something, at that age.

I hope they didn't have to marry because she was expecting. Shotgun weddings rarely last
