Body Odour.

Just listening to an item on the radio about a lady escorted off a train because she smelled, Taken to a toilet where she had to wash before being allowed back on the train.

Took me back to the 60`s when some people smelt of lard , dont encounter that much but still meet the odd person that has strong body odour. Strong perfume or aftershave can be equally offputting, and smokers do smell of their habit

Would you tell a friend they needed a wash ? and risk loosing ther friendship

The evil one stank to high heaven-his feet were disgusting and he took BO to a place no nose should be.

But spare a thought for those with rare medical conditions that make them `less than fragrant`-that must be a very heavy load.

Re: Body Odour.

If I knew a person well I would say something but hopefully in a kindly way. In a previous job when I was a mobile supervisor it was my job to go into jobs and explain to people we had complaints about how to wash and keep reasonably fragrant. Some sad tales I heard when I was doing that one lady I remember well, she was South African and was here claiming asylum, straight from a village with water fetched from the river to modern day UK. Spent as much time as I could with her showing her how we do things because apparently in her village only smelly women attracted men ! Shows how different cultures can be.

Re: Body Odour.

Oh dear - this reminds me of when I worked as a temp in an office where there was a large (very large) woman who had a severe BO problem. It was in the bad old days of 'crimplene' dresses and the height of Summer. The problem was so bad that no-one would stay in the staff room with her and we had to complain to management - who did nothing. Eventually the whole place reeked even when she was not there - and someone had to tackle her. She claimed not to understand why there was a complaint as she bathed and changed her underwear ONCE A WEEK ! Yuk! Fortunately she took umbrage and left.

Re: Body Odour.

If it was someone I knew well I would have no problem in discretely telling them they didn’t smell right, I would consider it an act of friendship telling them before someone they didn’t know told them.

They would need to smell awful before I'd tell them.

Did read somewhere if you don't wash for a month you stop given out body odour think it was down to body bacteria that if not wash and was allowed to flourish killed any smell.

Don"t know whether I would be brave enough to take the chance.
